Huayou Cobalt convened its 2025 Annual Work Conference at its headquarters in Tongxiang on January 21-22. Chairman Chen Xuehua delivered a keynote speech titled “Executing the 14th Five-Year Plan, Strategizing the 15th Five-Year Plan: Driving Steady Progress Through High-Quality Development,” outlining the company’s achievements in 2024 and strategic priorities for 2025.

Chairman Chen highlighted that 2024 was a year of resilience and transformation. Despite industry volatility, Huayou achieved significant milestones by adhering to its customer-centric philosophy, optimizing quality-cost-efficiency metrics, and advancing structural reforms. Key accomplishments included:
Stable Operations: New breakthroughs in production efficiency and market stability.
Global Expansion: Accelerated progress in overseas market development.
Innovation Leadership: Groundbreaking advancements in R&D and technology application.
“Though 2024 was arduous, our collective efforts made it profoundly meaningful,” stated Chairman Chen, extending gratitude to employees worldwide.
2024 also marked Huayou’s 30th anniversary as a pioneer in the industry. Over three decades, the company has grown into a global leader, ranking among China’s Top 500 Enterprises, Top 500 Private Enterprises, and Top 500 Manufacturing Enterprises. As Huayou embarks on its next 30-year journey, Chairman Chen emphasized unwavering commitment to its century-long vision.

Chairman Chen emphasized that 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of Huayou Cobalt’s listing. Since its IPO, the company has achieved rapid growth through its “Two New Areas and Three Trends” development strategy, the “Trinity” transformation (integrating resources, development, and manufacturing), and the accelerated progress of its “Ten-Year Goals Completed in Five Years” initiative.
Over 30 years of entrepreneurship and a decade of post-listing expansion, Huayou’s integrated industrial advantages, global operational expertise, and high-level collaboration capabilities have become increasingly prominent. “Our task now is to fully leverage these strengths, translating them into enhanced productivity, competitiveness, and sustainable growth. This will remain a core mission for all business units, functional departments, and domestic/overseas bases in the years ahead,” stated Chairman Chen.
Building on its 2025 work report, Chairman Chen outlined four critical focus areas:
Elevate Safety Standards to Safeguard Development
Integrate high-quality growth with robust safety protocols, ensuring mutual reinforcement between operational excellence and risk management.
Strengthen Independent Innovation Capabilities
Enhance R&D organization, recruit top talent in R&D management and engineering, adopt project-based research models, and optimize knowledge management systems.
Consolidate Indonesia’s Strategic Role
Develop Indonesia’s nickel industrial ecosystem into a global hub for resources, manufacturing, and supply chain resilience, driving cross-border operational success.
Advance Strategic Foresight for the 15th Five-Year Plan
Define 2026-2030 development goals, refine strategic management frameworks, and build agility to navigate future uncertainties.
Chairman Chen urged all employees to uphold the mission of building “Tech-Driven Huayou, Green Huayou, Open Huayou, and Responsible Huayou” — a blueprint to ensure sustainable, far-reaching growth.“The present shapes the future. As we conclude the 14th Five-Year Plan and prepare for the 15th, let us solidify our achievements and lay an unshakable foundation for Huayou’s next era,” he concluded.

The conference also included the signing ceremony of the 2025 annual performance contracts, speeches from representatives who signed the agreements, and the awards ceremony for outstanding achievements in 2024.
